Homecoming 2018: A View from the Inside
In 2018, I had the opportunity to be the Homecoming Chair for the Student Alumni Council. This role involved managing a committee of six chairs and facilitating all student facing aspects of Homecoming such as the parade, Homecoming court, weeklong events, marketing, and fundraising. The task involved months of planning and meeting with my fellow SACers along with staff members of the UC Alumni Association. Ultimately, “First and Last for Old UC” was a great Homecoming success. October 6th, 2018 was the official kick off of the UC Bicentennial and culminated in a week of spirit, fun, and a Bearcats win! Thanks to my great committee we were able to start two new weeklong events, fundraise from great community partners, host a great Homecoming Court, and ate a great deal of Skyline along the way. (We began a partnership with the Clifton Skyline where students who had an official punch card could win a Skyline t-shirt after 7 straight days of Skyline.) At the end of it, I would never replace the opportunity to be Homecoming Chair. It enhanced my love and passion for my alma mater and I cannot wait to see what UC’s 200th year has in store!
