Boldly Bearcat: Leading SAC through UC's Bicentennial
After serving as the Homecoming Chair for the Student Alumni Council in 2018, I entered the role of SAC President for my final year at UC. Not only was I responsible to help the Homecoming Chair with the Bicentennial Homecoming, but also over a 50+ person organization, weekly meetings, and assisting my executive team with their positions. While the Bicentennial was a large focus, it was also important to plan for the future of SAC as we undertook our annual recruitment push during this semester as well. This was the largest leadership undertaking that I have undertaken as a student and certainly had its rewards and challenges throughout this busy semester. With 21 new members and the excitement of the Bicentennial behind us, I think SAC as an organization certainly had a very promising semester. I am excited to return to campus in the spring and see how else SAC can grow and add more meaningful programming for our members and UC students at large. Lastly, as a graduating senior I wanted to focus on developing new leaders during my term. I have been energized by my executive team and I can already see confidence building in younger members who will be the next leaders for the UC Student Alumni Council.
