My name is Benjamin Kuhlman and I am a 5th year Kolodzik Business Scholar at the University of Cincinnati currently studying Operations Management and International Business with a minor in German Studies. I am from Crescent Springs, KY which is a suburb only 15 minutes south of Downtown Cincinnati. Thanks to the proximity to Clifton and two Cincinnati alumni as parents, I grew up as a Bearcat. In my free time I love to listen to music (Vampire Weekend, Real Estate, Tame Impala, Steely Dan, Chicago, etc.), read (Hemingway is my favorite), and enjoy all forms of coffee (I use a french press and have an espresso machine.).
I have found a number of passions in my life, a primary one being that of family. I am thankful for my mother, father, and two older sisters along with my extended family. Beyond this I am fascinated in the history of my family and I love hearing stories from my grandparents about relatives I never lived to see. I am incredibly proud of my family and the respective paths of success they took so I was able to matriculate at the University of Cincinnati. Another passion of mine is an aspect of my ancestry: Germany. I am very interested in all things Germany; from the language, culture, food, and history, often finding myself endlessly researching. Lastly, I am a strong Cincinnati sports fan, being lucky enough to go to many games for the Cincinnati Reds, UC Men's Basketball, and UC Football. My emotions, like many other Cincinnatians', are determined by the performance of the teams In college I have been able to complete rotations of co-op at GE Aviation, Rotex Global, Mubea North America, and Fifth Third Bank. I have continued engagement with campus organizations, serving in roles with the Student Alumni Council, Beta Theta Pi, Kolodzik Business Scholars Association, and other organizations. I have been lucky to serve organizations in a number of ways and grow myself as a leader through these groups. Beyond that, I was humbled to be honored by my peers for my campus involvement and have been inducted in a few campus honorary organizations, which have served as an extension of my pride in UC. Even while everything moves online due to COVID-19, I hope to take the best advantage of my last month or so. Lastly, I am excited to share that I have accepted a full time role in Cincinnati with Nielsen after graduation. I cannot wait to still be in town and stay involved within the UC community that has meant so much to me. Thanks for reading! Check out the rest of my site.
